BayLife is an English speaking Christian church. We are a Christ-centered Bible teaching church. We seek to help people understand the truth of Jesus Christ and His salvation based on the Bible alone. So that, they may believe in Christ by God’s grace and according to biblical truth.

Lead Pastor & Teaching Pastor (Church Board Member)
Pastor Fred planted BayLife Community Church with his wife, Sylvia, on January 21, 2001, in Foster City, CA. Previously, he served as the English pastor of two Chinese churches in San Francisco from 1994 to 2000. As God called him to the ministry of His Word, he has been honored to preach and teach from God’s Word since 1994.
When he gets a chance, he loves to take photos of his family and create photobooks for memories. Besides swimming for exercise, he also teaches an adult “Swim Clinic” at YMCA and coaches a children swim team at PJCC.

Aaron Ho
Church Board Chairman
Aaron accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his high school senior year after learning about the true meaning of the gospel message. He has been part of the BayLife church community since 2013 and enjoys the love and support of the BayLife family. He loves playing basketball and hiking with family and friends in his spare time.

Sylvia Chang
Worship Leader & Children Ministry Director (Church Board Member)
Sylvia has been serving at BayLife together with Pastor Fred all these years in the worship and children ministry. She sees her life mission to be one that takes opportunities to help others (kids and adults) to get to know Jesus. She enjoys hanging out with friends and doing outdoor activities such as hiking and especially spending time with her family.

Betty Chen
Church Board Member
I was born and raised in China. I had heard of Jesus’ name but didn’t know Him till my dearest friend Pauline Sun invited me to church. That was around Christmas two decades+ ago. Now, I am a sinner saved by Grace, the Lord’s servant, a nurse called to care, a work in process.
My husband and daughter are great support for my ministry. We love to spend time with our church family, especially when sharing food.

Queenie Wan
Treasurer & Worship Team Member (Church Board Member)
Since 2023, Queenie has been actively serving in BayLife’s worship and small group ministries. Her desire is to help others know Jesus and grow in their faith. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and baking—not only to bless family and friends, but also as a creative way to share Christ’s love through hospitality.

Sandy Kawano
Auditor
Sandy has been serving as Baylife’s treasurer from 2017-2025 and now as the auditor. “Thank the Lord that I am able to serve Him at our church,” she said.
In her free time, she enjoys watching comedies. She also likes trying food that she has never had before. She said, “My favorite food is chocolate with black coffee (no sugar or cream). It’s a perfect match for me.”
