“7×7 Blessing” VISION

The Lord willing, here are BayLife’s goals for becoming a 7-fold blessing to people.

1. Evangelism that multiplies disciples at home and abroad (reach lives)

  • Every church member will be equipped to actively witness Jesus Christ in his/her lives
  • “One leads one per year” target – one Christian leading one person to believe in Christ per year.
  • Add one oversea missionary per year to our financial and prayer support, 7 missionaries in 7 years.
  • Add one homeland mission ministry per year to our financial and prayer support – e.g. ministries to the homeless, school campuses, Jews, different people groups, etc.
  • Send out 1-2 short-term mission teams annually
  • Church planting through our supporting oversea missionaries and/or by our members domestically.

2. Small groups for everyone, every family, everywhere (share lives, touch lives)

  • Every church member and family will have a small group for them in their area – Bible study, prayer, men’s, women’s, youths, elderly, etc.
  • Develop different types of small groups for different life situations and needs – 12-steps support group (or celebrate recovery group), parenting, divorce recovery, couple mentor, parents of special-need children, serious illness support group, etc.
  • Ongoing training classes and support-group meetings for new and current small group leaders.

3. A Church-wide discipleship ministry that equips Christians for godly living and to become disciple-makers (build lives)

  • Classes & seminars for personal Christian growth – life leadership, Bible study & interpretation, spiritual gifts, overcoming personal issues, etc.
  • Classes & seminars for ministry training – small group leadership, lay counseling, worship team, multi-media team, Bible teacher’s training, etc.
  • Sending selected members & lay leaders to conferences for training annually.
  • Inviting other pastors and seminary professors to give workshops in their specialized fields of study. Through this to develop a Discipleship-Center to serve Bay Area churches free of charge.

4. A Children and Youth Ministry that impacts young lives for Christ with lively and sound biblical teaching (build lives)

  • Every Bible teacher will be a baptized disciple of Jesus Christ who loves children and exemplifies a healthy Christian lifestyle according to biblical teaching.
  • All teachers will be trained in Bible interpretation, basic theology, Christian education, and interactive teaching skills.
  • All Christian children will be taught how to witness Christ to others and supported to do so.
  • There will be at least 2 qualified teachers for every Sunday School class.
  • Summer children program will continue to be developed and expanded.

5. Two Sunday worship services that inspire people, witness Christ, and glorify God (for the glory of God)

  • 1-2 worship teams with adults and youths to inspire the congregation to worship God and walk with God mainly through singing, preaching, and testimonies. (other performing arts and media maybe)
  • Witness Jesus Christ and His salvation through church members’ sharing and testimonies.
  • Glorifies God through our singing, our testimonies of Christ, and preaching of God’s Word.

6. A church facility that seats 200 and houses our church ministries that outreach and serve the community

  • We will set up a budget and savings plan for a full-time rental property or for-sale property whichever will be provided by God.
  • We will appoint a qualified person or team for property search.

7. You yourself as a Christian

  • . . . who continues to learn and grow to be more Christ-like
  • . . . who seeks to do what John the Baptist did, “He [Jesus] must increase, but I must decrease.”
